Once home to the Russell Family, Silverburn Park was gifted to the town council in 1973 and for many years ran as an animal farm, a craft centre and hosted campers and a range of events.
The activities and buildings closed during the 1990s. In 2019 FEAT Trading CIC (the subsidiary trading company of Fife Employment Access Trust) signed a lease agreement with an aim to regenerate the park for a sustainable future.
"To develop Silverburn as a place of quiet enjoyment, supporting the health and wellbeing of the community, and respecting the habitat and biodiversity of the environment."
Further details are available at the dedicated Silverburn Park website
Sammy the Squirrel is our Park Mascot and in the absence of the usual staff and volunteer team due to the CV19 pandemic restrictions, we've left Sammy in charge of the Park.
His efforts are being highlighted on the Park facebook page and if you'd like to contribute to the cause, please text Sammy to 70085 to donate £5.
You can also donate more or less than a fiver by texting Sammy 3 (for £3); Sammy 10 (for a tenner) or Sammy 20 (for £20). All texts also cost one standard rate message and you have an option to add gift aid to your donation if you wish.
