Due to covid, the JTW project is being delivered remotely on a 121 basis via telephone and/or Zoom. Should demand increase, a waiting list will be in operation.
As our courses are delivered as pre-recorded videos, we offer 30-min one-to-one coaching calls with JTW participants to help service users move towards their goals.
The content below has been adapted to better reflect the project in our current times.
If you are on the waiting list, consider getting involved with our weekly 'Wee Blether', hosted by FEAT's Peer Support volunteers. More details can be found here.
FEAT's Journey to Work (JTW) programme helps people within Fife who are struggling with a mental health difficulty to move back towards work. JTW consists of a comprehensive range of support measures in order to meet the needs of the individual and consists of:
A 4-part video course, which teaches participants the basics of cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT). This includes helping participants gain an understanding of how their mood affects them as well as exploring a range of strategies which may help manage their mental health.
A course that focuses more on the future and your goals, STARS is a 4-part video course and is interested in exploring your personal strengths and values. Participants are encouraged to consider ways in which they may be under using their strengths and values and identity where they may be able to apply them in relation to their goals.
A four-part video course that explores the pros and cons of trying to avoid or control our unwanted thoughts and feelings. Based on Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, participants begin to develop mindfulness skills and techniques/metaphors to help them take a step back from difficult experiences and move towards values.
One-to-one support with a member of staff who regularly meets with you to discuss your goals, plans and helps with any other areas that may need addressed in order to move back towards work. This may include helping you gain support from other partner organisations to help you move back towards work. During covid-19, these conversations often feature as part of the 30-minute follow up call as part of the courses described above.
Previous clients have taken a lot from the Journey to Work programme and the benefits really are dependent upon what you want to get from it. Some benefits that other clients have found include:
Our Journey to Work programme is flexible and suits your level of commitment and current circumstances. All one-to-one coaching/key working calls are arranged at a time that best suits you and your FEAT keyworker, meaning it's very flexible to suit your needs.
If you're struggling with your mental health, live in Fife, interested in moving back towards work and would like to take part in the Journey to Work programme, then you can complete the self-referral form below and a member of the team will be in touch.
